What to Watch Out for at Macy’s Parade 2010
September 5th, 2010An annual parade in New York anticipated by millions of viewers worldwide has grown bigger since 1924 when it was first held by the employees of Macy’s department stores who are proud of their American heritage. They adapted the type of celebration that Europeans have to their Thanksgiving celebrations.

Back then, it was called the Macy’s Christmas Parade. Together with some hired entertainers, they marched from Harlem to the first Macy’s store in New York. Because it was such a big success, it has become tradition where Santa Claus was welcomed at Herald Square.
